So, I am looking at going in with 3 other people on this studio space. It would be about $125 a person. Its about 1000 sq. ft. Its almost 5 miles from my place. It would be nice to have a place away from home. I feel so confined in my current work space.
Here are pics of Drews' T-Shirt for his Birthday. I did the tag on that vinyl coated fabric that doesn't fray, with fabric marker and acrylic paint, then I sewed it to the top of the existing tag so he can have the care instructions on the back.
Here is my beloved Murphey, just doin' what he does best...
I am starting this blog as a means of documenting my progress within my work.Currently I am working on two commissions that I got through a show I had for First Fridays at 1810 Gallery. This first one a guy bought the piece and wanted another the same size. It's 28'' X 30''. The next one will be similar to these but about 35" X 70''. This is a detail of the one i just started. I did the first one (on right) in the studio at school, so I had to make a surface similar to the tables at the studio to work on. I nailed a sheet of canvas over a sheet of cotton batting so I can pin fabric to it to work on. I am using fabric markers, acrylic, and dye on cotton. I recently came across Sam Webers work. <3"
I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in May 2008. Since then I have been working within the print industry.
In the past I have worked as an assistant for: a mascot designer, designer toy company, and boutique owner. Ultimately I want to have an online store and sell in select shops and online. Thank you for taking the time to check out my work.
